Bug Report – Ultimate Member
-
I have read about similar bugs with Ultimate Member where a user tries to do something and is redirected to the homepage for some unknown reason. I have been having a similar problem, only it is occurring with my admins. I have been using Ultimate Member for almost a year and know it frontwards and backwards and I absolutely love it. However, on one of the pages that I created for a client, they have been experiencing a bug similar to what other users have reported when dealing with UM redirecting them to the homepage for no reason.
I have created two admins, plus one test admin that I used to recreate this issue, all of which experience the same issue. The client creates tutorial videos for their members. I use WooCommerce to create a $50 fee for admission to the classes and UM for user signup, plus content blocking shortcode for those members who have signed up but not paid. The user is directed to the signup link where they signup with UM, then are redirected to the class selection in WooCommerce to select a class and pay the semester fee. They are not activated until one of the 2 admins I created receive a pending application email and approve them. Before they approve them, they hop on the site and check to make sure they have paid for the class. If they have paid for the class they are “supposed” to be able to click on their pending status and change it to complete, or go back to the email and approve them. Both attempts to do this re-direct them to the homepage instead, and the user remains pending. In fact, they can’t even click on pending users’ profiles without being redirected. This leaves me with the responsibility as the super-admin to approve every pending applicant that has paid.
Now before you try and say to make sure that the admin has access to every user role and can edit every account I assure you they do. Once the applicant is approved by me, the super-admin, the other admins have full control over that account. They can access it, they can delete it, they can edit it in every way possible. For some strangely odd reason, their permissions are suspended while the user mode is pending. I have spent days trying to reconfigure settings to change this, but nothing works. I have come to the conclusion this is some sort of bug that has to do with the other reported bugs( https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/submitting-front-end-form-from-custom-plugin-as-a-member-not-admin/ ….. https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/um-breaks-custom-forms/ ) of users being redirected to the homepage for no reason, only in this instance its an admin. If there are any UM devs here that can explain this away I invite you to try, but I don’t believe this to be any other issue than an UM bug. For Technical information, the site is hosted on wpengine with the latest version of PHP and all of its plugins updated and the WordPress core updated to the latest version as well.
