• When update an item (et_pb_layout cpt) on Divi Library’s page, the plugin changes its post type (setting it to “post”): the “et_pb_layout” element is not available on the select menu.

Tip: add a checkbox like “Do not change post type” could solve the problem.

  • I also ran into this. I took forever to track down what was causing layouts to disappear.

I had this happned with Quick Edit, which switched the Layout Types to Posts.

Thanks for the heads up. I’m planning on using this or another plugin to convert a client’s current default posts in a certain category to it’s own CPT and was curious how it will behave with the Divi theme.

Are you both experiencing issues only with the Quick Edit feature? I wish/hope the plugin’s functionality is included in the Bulk Actions dropdown menu to apply it to multiple posts at once. Otherwise, it’s a manual process on 150+ posts.

Are you using this on Divi’s own Project CPT they package with the theme specifically? Or just the default “post” post type?

    Thanks!

The trick is to just use it to convert your posts and then disable it.

The bug seems to be when editing a Divi post type like a layout in the Divi Library — Quick Edit or Normal — the layout will become a post if you save it while Post Type Switcher is active because it’s not aware of the the Divi Library post type and changes it to a regular post when saving.

I’d not tried it at all for Divi’s own Project CPT, but I’d assume the same caveat applies.
