Thanks Alexander for this lovely, free theme! I changed to Hueman in May and spent lots of time adjusting my old pages and posts and setting up menus, footers and sidebars. I love sidebars! ?? I didn’t test my site on an iPad until yesterday, when I finally bought one. I was surprised to find that the sidebars do not always open correctly when you toggle the >> button.

This happens when using Safari on iOS 8, even on Alexander’s own Live Demo site: https://demo.alxmedia.se/hueman

Sometimes the hidden sidebars (in portrait orientation) open correctly when hitting the open button, but often they do not. When this happens, you can see a tiny part of the sidebar content. Please see these screenshots taken today on an iPad Mini Retina running iOS 8.1.1, and you will understand what I mean:

    Right sidebar (2-sidebar layout)
    Left sidebar (2-sidebar layout)
    Right sidebar (1-sidebar layout)

I can replicate this bug on my friend’s (full-size) iPad as well.

I hope Alexander will see this post and hopefully offer a fix in a future update. Millions, or maybe even billions of people use iOS products, so it would be great to have the sidebars work also for iPad and iPhones.

Hmm, nobody else have this frustrating issue?

The bug/issue not only affects my website (running Hueman), but also Alexander’s own demo site, see screenshots and explanation in the previous post.

I am having this problem also. When the sidebar doesn’t open, the menu icon doesn’t open either.

No clue how to fix it! ??

I was driving myself bonkers trying to debug this issue.

    Glad its not just me.

This is a pretty amazing theme other wise ??

Please update as soon as you can!

Sidebar issue on single post confirmed here on iPad with iOS 8.1.3.

Weird, I’m a bit ill at the moment but will try to troubleshoot as soon as I can. I hate when I can’t troubleshoot it in a browser.

My first guess would be that it has to do with z-index or position relative on .content, but the strange thing is that the sidebar expands in the wrong direction. Plus it only happens on single posts, which is even more weird.

    All troubleshooting help is appreciated.

Sorry for a late response yallaman, haven’t noticed this issue until today.

Edit: If you put your finger on the small expandable sidebar and scroll sideways it works, so that means it must have to do with the overflow + width somehow.

    Perhaps something like:

    .s1-expand .s1,
    .s2-expand .s2 { overflow: hidden; overflow-y: auto; }

Edit 2: The issue is gone now on the device. Viewing same post, no changes made. What the.

Edit 3: And now the issue is back.

Edit 4: Now when I go back to the frontpage, the slider there is broken and the sidebars as well.

This sounds like a hard one to find the core of the issue to.

A solution has been posted on the GitHub site, marking as resolved. It will be included in the next update.

Good news ?? Great work and support, Alexander!

At the moment I’m abroad and only have access to a very dodgy internet connection, but I’ll check out the solution as soon as I can. Maybe I’ll just update the theme when the new version is available.

    Cheers ??

v2.2.2 and v1.4.9 has the fix included.

Hm, it seems we celebrated prematurely.

After I installed v2.2.2 I still have problems with the sidebars. And now the issue is back also on Alexander’s own Live Demo site: https://demo.alxmedia.se/hueman

I’m using Safari on an iPad Mini Retina running iOS 8.3. See my original post at the top for more info. The sidebar bug is seen when trying to open sidebars on a blog post (not the front/main page).

Here are new screenshots (taken today, May 1st) of Alexander’s Demo Site:

    portrait (right sidebar, 1-sidebar layout)
    landscape (right sidebar, 1-sidebar layout)

As you can see, the sidebar opens to the right, off screen. When turning the iPad to landscape orientation, the sidebar is still not visible (again, it’s off screen to the right).

I love Hueman. I hope it’s possible for Alexander to fix the issue so that iPhone and iPad users can see the sidebar content.

Hmm, noone else who finds this issue annoying?

The bug is present also on Alexander’s demo site for his new paid themes Magaziner and Agnar, so it would be of interest to find a fix.
