    Hi

I am using the most recent version of the plugin (3.6.10) and enabled the thumbnail support under “options” -> “Basic”.

The “medium” size thumbnails have been created, but when i click on any image in the thumbnails view and select “inspect object” then i see that the main image is used, i.e. 1400.jpg (and scaled down to i.e. 100x180px).

    What am i doing wrong?

    Best,

    Thomas

    Hi Thomy,

Do you have a link we could take a look at? Do you have a caching plugin installed on your site which could have delayed the implementation.

    Hi

No i don’t have a caching plugin installed.

    The URL is:

    https://www.proart-kunsthandel.de/nachverkauf/

Like i said, i activated the thumbnail feature, the thumbnails (“medium” size) are present in “wp-content/uploads”).

    Hi Thomy,

Is there anything else manipulating images on your site? When you say activated the thumbnail feature, you mean set “Thumbnail Support” to “Yes” on the “Options” tab?

    Hi

No, there istn any other image manipulation tool enabled.
I set the option to “Yes” in the backend.

    Hi

Has there been any progress in trying to solve this issue? I installed the latest version but the problem still remains.

    Hi

Is ther some debugging i can do to look where the issue comes from?
Or can you maybe take a look (i will provide login details then)?

    Thomy

Could you tell us if the 300×300 version of the images exist on your server (i.e. in the “/wp-content/uploads/” folder)?

    Hi

    I have names like these

    0005-300×186.jpg
    or
    0006-2-300×298.jpg

    but not exactly -300×300.jpg

Under “media” i set “medium” sizes to 300/300px. The “thumbnails” size is 150/150px.

    Best,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomy,

We are currently working on a way to get the medium size instance of the image. We hope to be able to include this feature in an update around mid-March or April.

An alternative you could use in the meantime would be to create square images specifically to be used for your thumbnail images.

    Hi

How should i do that, manually (image manipulation program)? How do the files need to be named in this case?

    0005-300×300.jpg (so …300×300.jpg extension)?

Then it can happen that the images are cropped which is bad.

    Thomy

    Hi Thomy,

If you wanted, you could just create a smaller version of the existing image (just resize the image in any image manipulation program) and name it with “300×300” at the end. It shouldn’t even have to be square, as long as it is named that way.

    Hi

Has there been any progress in the creation of the medium-size images on your side yet?

    Best,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomy,

We’ve had a few big updates and fixes that have been taking up a lot of our time recently. We are still looking to update this functionality, so that it works as intended, but, unfortunately, we’re still not sure of a timeline.

    Hi

I manually created the files and uploaded them in the same directory as the main images:

    0001.jpg
    0001-300×300.jpg

    0001-1.jpg
    0001-1-300×300.jpg

    and so on.
But it still doesn’t work even if enabled in the backend. What do i have to do to make it work?

    Best,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

I tried the link you have above, but that page doesn’t exist anymore. Could you provide the link to the page you’re trying this on, so we could have a look to see if we can spot what’s wrong?

    Thanks
