Bug? Variations with same price don't show pre-sale price.

Hi, running 2.3.6, I have a product with 2 variations. Both were originally $398.00 and both are now on sale at $298.00.
Here’s the “bug”, I suspect:
Normally when you choose variation options, the pre-sale price will appear above the “add to cart” button. It will be struck through and the sale price will show with in but not struck through.
However, when your variations have the same price as each other, neither the pre-sale price does nor the sale price display above the “add to cart” button.
Is this a bug?
