Recently I’ve been noticing that when trying to use Pinterest on images on a one of my blog posts, sometimes the images would pick up the alt tags and sometimes they wouldn’t. I found out this was related to blog posts that were created with Elementor. However, I saw that Elementor itself was not stripping out the alt tags – it was showing in the source code so I tried disabling Webcraftic. Once I did, Pinterest was able to pick up the alt tags.

Somehow Webcraftic + Elementor is preventing Pinterest from picking up alt tags to use as descriptions. Any idea why this might be the case?

I found out what was causing this issue. The setting, Automatically set the alt attribute is what was causing this. What’s confusing is that this setting was only affecting pages that were created by Elementor. Normal posts did not have this issue.

What’s this setting actually doing in the backend (or frontend)?

    Hi,

This setting only affects pages and posts in the content area. But this does not affect the backend. I’m currently working on an extended version of optimizing alt attributes, maybe I can fix it.

“Pinterest on images” – Is this the name of the plugin?

    Thanks for reporting bugs!

    Best regards, Alex
