• Hi, I wanted to report this and also check if I was doing something wrong.

We created a custom user role via Ultimate Member for a ‘news editor’ this allowed the user to edit/maintain/delete posts only. The options for accessing the WP admin and viewing the toolbar were also correctly set.

However subscribers that were switched to this role gained no elevated rights. We reset the cache, let if a few hours, etc and still no elevated rights – just normal subscriber view only rights.

However, if we switch a user to Administrator (the WP role) and THEN switch to the News Editor, the permissions are correctly set and the news editor can now do all the stuff we’d expect based on the role setup.

It seems there is possibly a bug in this somewhere – requiring a higher WP permission initially?
