Bugreport: Default language not working always

  • I encountered a problem with the default language.

    i have german and english. german is selected as default (star is set) but both languages have the order value of “0”. and sometimes one (german) user sees the page in english and another user in german. When i change the order of english to “1”, the problem seems fixed. i wasnt aware that it is neccessary to change the order value because i only have two languages and one is set to default. so in my opinion there is no need to force an order?!

    The ‘Order’ is the position of your language in the language switcher, see the doc: Configure the languages. It has no effect on the page which is served to your visitor.

    i know both functions. but detection is disabled. however for some reason some users get wrong language served…

    Polylang sets a cookie for returning visitors to be redirected to the homepage in their last browsed language whatever the ‘Detect the browser preferred language’ option is deactivated or not.
