Great piece of art, please accept my contribution to make it even better!

Bugs found in 6.5 on WordPress 4.4.1
    * At least in dutch, the shortcode [qemcalender] (Settings>Calendar) should be written as [qemcalendar]
    * The option “Hide ‘Read More’ link” (Settings>Event Display; forgive me if wrong, I work in dutch translation) doesn’t actually hide the link.
    * Option “Open external link in new tab/window” (Settings>Event Display) will also do that for internal links.
    * When “Show Map” (Settings>Event Settings) is enabled, the map will be shown in both the event page and the event list widget, regardless of how the tick boxes are configured to control that behavior.
    * The option “Not present” (“not attending”?) (Settings>Registration) will not register a value (when one looks under the event under Events>Registrations, the column for this option is empty).
    * The option to show the registration form on the right, below the picture or map (Settings>Registration) will also show it in the event list widget, messing up the lay-out in most themes.
    * Feature request: A user registering for an event should have the choice to either fill in number of people attending OR “will not attend”(configured under Settings>Registration).
    * Feature request: When someone has already registered before, his new registration is bounced regardless whether the values are updated (e.g. taking 2 people instead of 1). User should be presented with his data entered and allowed to change it or unsubscribe.

    Kindly yours!
And I say again: it’s really pretty!

    Thanks for that Johan,

I’ve fixed most of this bugs in the update beta. If you want a copy to play with send me a message via the plugin website. There is an email link on the plugin settings page.

Great, I sent an e-mail, I’ll be happy to help testing. It’s the least I can do for you!

On another note, I noticed a need from several questions from users on your website that are looking for mailing list functionality, that I myself also seek (feature request!).
QEM contains a reporting page and the extensions plugin. Both provide useful functionality, but not in case you want to inform people that have been in touch in the past that a new event is upcoming.
In this case one would want a ‘sign-up for my newsletter/mailing list’ functionality, both a checkbox within event registration as well as a function on itself (in case somebody isn’t able to attend an event but does want to be informed about future events). Possibly linked to a mailchimp account or so.

Should you ever entertain to program that functionality, maybe the RSVPmaker ChimpBlast extension contains some useful code to implement it.

Integrating any sort of mailing signup is problematic. What you can do is redirect people after registration to a signup page. That functionality is already built into the plugin. You can even add the event ID as an identifier.

Create a new event and you will see the redirection box.

A lot of the above has now been resolved in the last update. I will be looking at the rest to see if there is anything I can do.

Hi Aerin, thanks for your ongoing work. I updated to 6.6 and found the following fixed/not fixed:
    * NOT FIXED At least in dutch, the shortcode [qemcalender] (Settings>Calendar) should be written as [qemcalendar]
    * NOT FIXED The option “Hide ‘Read More’ link” (Settings>Event Display; forgive me if wrong, I work in dutch translation) doesn’t actually hide the link.
    * NOT FIXED Option “Open external link in new tab/window” (Settings>Event Display) will also do that for internal links (used https://mydomain.com).
    * NOT FIXED When “Show Map” (Settings>Event Settings) is enabled, the map will be shown in both the event page and the event list widget, regardless of how the tick boxes are configured to control that behavior.
    * FIXED The option “Not present” (“not attending”?) (Settings>Registration) will not register a value (when one looks under the event under Events>Registrations, the column for this option is empty).
    * FIXED The option to show the registration form on the right, below the picture or map (Settings>Registration) will also show it in the event list widget, messing up the lay-out in most themes.
    * NOT FIXED Feature request: A user registering for an event should have the choice to either fill in number of people attending OR “will not attend”(configured under Settings>Registration), whereas both are shown now at the same time.
    * NOT FIXED Feature request: When someone has already registered before, his new registration is bounced regardless whether the values are updated (e.g. taking 2 people instead of 1). User should be presented with his data entered and allowed to change it or unsubscribe.

Can’t change the shortcode – it’s been like this for years.

The hide read more option works for me

The external linking thing might not be possible to fix. So I may just change this to all link open in a new tab.

The map thing works – the checkbox you want is on Event Settings (this is a legacy thing)

The event registration requests will be looked at and if possible added to the next update – but I’m not hopeful about this as it’s quite complicated and I do all this for free. If you want to pay for the coding then I will be happy to do the work.

Hi Aerin, sorry for not being clearer:

    * The shortcode itself is correct ([qemcalendar]), it is the label or dutch translation in the Settings>Calendar page that indicates [qemcalender]
    * maybe I am expecting the wrong thing: which ‘read more’ should disappear? I am looking at the ‘read more’ below an event in the widget.
    * Can’t just compare url with hosted domain name?
    * What I mean is that the ‘show map’ checkbox is in the same line as the checkboxes to show the address in an event itself or the event list. To me, that suggests that the map will only be shown in the event or event list if the respective tick box is checked. In reality, the map will show in both the event and the event list, regardless whether I choose to show or hide the address for event/event list with the two tick boxes on the left.
The ‘show map’ tick box, thus functions as a separate option.

For now, all I can do is support you with kind words and suggestions for improvement. Sorry.

I like your visual improvements for the feedback to the user you implemented in 6.6, by the way!

    OK got it.

If you can update the translation file I’ll get it uploaded.

The widget read more is separate to the event list read more and there was a bug. I’ve now fixed the bug. Download here: https://quick-plugins.com/quick-event-manager/qem-update/

Comparing the URL sounds simple to do but isn’t. Or should I say, I don’t know how to do it.

I will take a look again at the ‘show map’ options and see if I can move this to the event display settings.
