Build a new role by cloning an existing role.

    Hi all

    I cloned EDITOR role through “User Role Editor” but the cloned role seems to not have the same provileges.

    How can I compare both EDITOR and cloned role ? Is there any option that are not cloned automatically ?(I looked through the forum but didn’t find anything)

    Please navigate to WP Dashboard > Members > Roles and share a screenshot for this page so we can check how many Granted capabilities for both roles. Also, may I ask what the issue is that Colened role can’t access?

    Thank you for your answer. One of the privilegies that cloned role do not permit (although EDITOR role allows it) is adding a picture media on home page or modifying an event.

    I will try to navigate into the WP dashboard as you said to get a screen shot. My user didn’t took any screen shot when they had the issue (I cloned the EDITOR role as a new role and apply the role to two users and they could not do what they used to do with the EDITOR role, as modifying an event or add a logo on the home page, I set back the EDITOR role to them and it was OK).

    Hi @bangkokaccueil,

    Please check with your host about any error log so we can check where is the issue comes from. Please try to clone the role again then save its settings before assigning it to the user.
