• Version, yes it’s ancient, I’m in the middle of coming current.

I’m an Oracle DBA, nope not in the 12 steps program for that.

Across the years, I’ve built up a personal library of database related sql, perl and sh scripts to help me do my job. I’d like to build a CMS to contain these. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Organization would probably be topical/functional. Ie. script A does thingy LMN so does script B so they would be in the same LMN topic, script C does QRS and script D does FGH. and so on. cross ref might be handy. Yep, I’m building essentially an online library/repository. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

    John

Tags, categories, and custom taxonomies would be my starting point ??

Have a look at this site – https://wp-snippets.com/

They have styled their snippets in an interesting way.

ok, custom taxonomies seem to be the way to go. Here’s my next quandry. I already have ‘posts’. Should I add these “scripts” as pages? create a special post type? wp-snippets has code snippets and articles. I could see that being handy. I can’t tell what they did though. how do they separate the two types of entries?

oh and I’m now on WP 3.4.1!! yippee!!
