    Hello,

I originally posted this to ask for help from WordPress.com and have been pointed to try asking the question here.

I work for a local music venue in France and they have asked if I can make a website (as I have experience with HTML/CSS/JS). I was wanting to make a page that would dynamically display each music event in the form of a card, displaying the date and time, the artist name, a photo and a short description, and having rows of 2-4 cards, divided by month.

I was originally thinking of achieving this by making a website from scratch using React and connecting the website to a MongoDB database (containing each event and the relevant data), and making custom code to render each of the events onto the page in the form of cards and to delete events that have passed today’s date.

I was since advised that making a website for another person would be easier with a CMS such as WordPress. This is my first time making a website for someone else.

Firstly, is it possible to set something like this up on WordPress, whereby events can easily be added to a collection of events? Would I be required to manually add and delete events each time?

Secondly, how do I go about making a WordPress website for someone else? They are not a company and they aren’t particularly technologically literate either. I was hoping I’d be able to build it, and then both deploy it and hand it off to them for a one-off fee. I worry that WordPress will lock the required functionality behind a paid subscription.

Apologies if these questions are simple, as mentioned this is my first real project of building a website for someone else and I want to ensure I do it correctly. Any help and responses will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
