Building Web Apps for Porting

I’m going to build a web app from scratch with an eye toward porting it to WP, Drupal, etc… I’m wondering if any one can point me to a best practices document or tutorial that will show me how to design my app to be most easily portable.

I’m continuing to google, but was hoping someone had covered this ground already.
