Bulk change image file names?

I recently moved wordpress to a new server, and after the move I noticed that a lot of images weren’t showing up in my posts. After a while I realized that this was because those image files had special characters in them (characters ?, ? and ?, and yes I know this is bad but the people posting them didn’t know better at the time).

This worked at our old host but on our new server the image files are broken because of it.

Is there any smart way to fix this in “bulk”? Like mass-changing both the file names on the server and the corresponding file paths to those images in the posts?

Or any other suggestions?

I’d be very happy if I didn’t have to upload each image in each post again one by one, so any help much appreciated!
