Bulk generation SKU does not work for empty skus

  • When using the ‘Bulk generate SKU for all products’ or ‘Bulk generate SKU by Category’ the sku does not seem to be set on the product, if it did NOT exist before.

    Reproducing:
    * Bulk generate SKU for all products
    * do NOT check “Re-create existing SKUs?”
    * click button “Create SKU for all products”
    * it run over all product, products without sku have cross with tooltip “SKU was not detected but was recreated!” and on the right “New SKU: SKU not detected” in green

    Saving generated sku DOES work on the product page.

    Versions:
    Wordpress: 5.8.1
    WooCommerce: 5.8.0
    Easy Auto SKU Generator for WooCommerce: 1.0.8

    Plugin Settings:
    Select SKU format: Use product slug, for example – your-product,
    Alse for Only numbers, for example – 893267
    Rest is default.
