Hi, I am looking at this plugin to see if it can do the following. I want to use the Assistant to select, for example, 30 files. I want to rename the titles to be Page 1, Page 2, Page 3, Page 4, etc. (This is for a comic).

I see that I can select “replace” for title but is there a wildcard I can put in to get numbering (1,2,3)?

And if there is, are there ways of managing the order? For example oldest file becomes 1, newest becomes 30, something along those lines?

Looking forward to your answer. Thanks!

Thanks for your question, which has come up before in this earlier topic:

Can you bulk update titles AND add an incrementing number?

Using the [+index+] substitution parameter in the Media/Assistant Bulk Edit Area should give you what you need. You can use a Content Template to compose a replacement Title that includes the page number, e.g., template:Amazing Stories Page [+index+] of [+found_rows+].

You also asked “And if there is, are there ways of managing the order?” The Bulk Edit items are processed in the order items are listed in the Media/Assistant submenu table, from top to bottom. The default sort is descending by item ID, i.e., newest to oldest. You can reverse the order by clicking the column header to sort the table by ascending ID value, i.e. oldest to newest. You can also filter the table in various ways to simplify the task of finding and marking the items you want to edit.

I hope the above suggestions give you the solution for your application. I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems or further questions regarding the use of a content template to replace your item titles. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.
