    Hi,

I’m a long time user and stumbled upon something:

When uploading files, I used to go to the Media / Renamer panel, hit “Scan for issues” and then “Rename all issues” (don’t know the exact phrase). So I ended up with renaming everything that wasn’t in order.

With one update you revamped this section. As far as I understand it, now you can only Rename ALL files or rename them 1 by 1.

If I upload 100 images to a library of 1000 images, I can either hit rename 100 times or rename all 1000 images, instead of only the 100 new images. So I’m looking for the “Rename only what needs to be renamed” button.

Am I missing something? Did you move this feature to the pro version?

    Hi,

Sorry, I think my new UI confused you ?? The plugin makes heavy and clever use of the lock/unlock function now, which is mostly handled automatically.

New files which need renaming are basically not locked. Locked files are those that you renamed manually or… locked of course.

Rename ALL now renames what need to be renamed.
Unlock ALL and Rename, rename really everything from scratch.

Basically it works a bit differently, but it’s way more clever than before. The features were never move to the PRO version, I would never do this ??

    Hi Jordy,

thanks for your reply. I’m using your plugin on two sites and both have every image unlocked it seems. So how do I lock all files?

    buttons

    Hi,

There are no options for that yet. But true, I could add a button to either LOCK or UNLOCK everything. That would be fine for you?

    Hi Jordy,

that would be great. I wouldn’t know how to solve this otherwise. I’m surprised nobody else mentioned this.

    Thank you very much!

    Hi Jordy,

    sorry to bug you again.

I locked all files with the new button. Uploaded a new file. Scaned for issues. Hit “Rename ALL [1]” > again plugin starts to rename ALL files as shown by the progress (5/1000), not just the one file that’s unlocked.

    Hi,

Can you contact me directly? I can’t reproduce the issue. I mean, I try exactly what you did but in my case it only rename one file, the last one.

    Hello,

    It’s this: meowapps.com/contact/ ??

    Sorry for my English.

    I have same issue.

What if I lock all files and later change some titles (I use pro version – renaming by post title). Locked files will not be renamed?

I use bulk process because add a lot of posts (woocommerce products) and can’t use rename on post save because it take long time and always make broken thumbnail links.

Exactly ?? That’s what it is for.

Post Save is too dangerous yes.

    1. I mean auto skip, now you need to manually lock the files each time.

And I have same issue as hmkay

“I locked all files with the new button. Uploaded a new file. Scaned for issues. Hit “Rename ALL [1]” > again plugin starts to rename ALL files as shown by the progress (5/1000), not just the one file that’s unlocked.”

3rd day I can’t rename my files. I have 12 000 files and bulk process always stop on 20-30%. I tried manually lock first already renamed files, but it it’s very hard to click on each file and it’s not helps.

    2. I mistaked, bulk process break thumbnail links too. Link to original file updated, to thumbnails not – has old file name. Regenerate thumbnails helps, but it’s not good solution.

My website – https://ali-yes.ru/. I can show screenshots or video of all issues.

    Hi
I have a site using woocommerce and I the site has around 30,000 images.
I want to rename every image. I would like to have the product title as the image title and the ALT title the same also. All product have a feature image plus multiple gallery images.
    Thank you in advance.

@vastbuys You need to check the Pro for those features.
