I am creating a directory of healthcare professionals, and I want them to be listed by first and last name, not by Business Name (which I want to be optional since not everyone will have a business name). What is the best way to do this? I was going to create separate fields for first and last name, and make both of these fields required and the Post Title; however, the documentation states that Post Title can only be used for one field. Does this mean I would have to create one field that contains both the first and last name, and make this field required and the Post Title? I would prefer to have separate fields for the first and last name, if possible. Thanks!

    Hi BrownEyesTFC,

Post title is considered a single field–that’s restricted by WordPress, we can’t change that. One title per custom post type. So if you want this behavior, having a first/last name field would be good, perhaps with the Last Name as the Post Title and the First name showing up after it.

You may want to read our article about customizing the template so you can change the look & feel of this a little more clearly to match your vision: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/customizing-bd-to-fit-your-theme/

Thank you for the information. I am not a web developer so the information you sent me about customizing the template is way above me, but I have it looking good enough for now.
