When viewing a lesson in my current setup of Lifter LMS, users can’t directly go back to their profile to for instance log out. I’d like to add this functionality. See the image below for the current setup.

Where would this typically be done?
Should I edit the template used for the page or how can I do this without actually putting a button manually in the content of every lesson?

An example of a lesson page:

I am still trying to figure this out.

    Any inputs on this @nrherron @jnr4u2 ?

Hi @superdep would it be possible to add a menu to the upper right-hand corner linking students to the ‘Dashboard’ page? You can also add a logout link directly to that menu and it would show up on your header across the site there: (a quick video on how to add a logout link to your menu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDc72IrscP4 )

    Hi Will

Thanks for the idea. It’s simple enough to add new menus in WordPress, but this is an example of my problems with Lifter LMS. I haven’t found much logic in where things are in Lifter. For instance this situation: I have a menu, but then where do I tell Lifter LMS to include this in every lesson?

Lessons are set to use the default template, but I can’t seem to access that.

I’m wondering why in the documentation there isn’t an overview of the logic – which things are controlled from which menus and what is controlled by Lifter vs Theme vs WordPress default. I have been guessing my way through. And with other systems, I have been able to think through it logically.

I can’t see an option inside Lifter LMS to set up a menu position. Under the menu settings in the WP dashboard, I can choose to set it as the main menu. That makes it show up, but it obviously removes my actual main menu.

What I’m looking for is simply a little menu that will let users go back to their profile to let them log out.

Setting this up inside Lifter would give the benefit of only showing it to people already logged in/enrolled. I can easily set up a button on the front page that links to the profile page. But at the top of each lesson there is a link to the course front page, a link here just like this but to the profile page, would help my users out.

    Hi @superdep

Unfortunately, the theme is going to be responsible for where custom menus can be added if I’m understanding the question correctly.

LifterLMS does not add custom menu locations for lessons or curses the same way we do for sidebar options. This is something we can add as a feature request, but for now the best options would be to either use breadcrumbs to let users get back to their course.

    Apologies for the inconvenience!

Please let us know if you have any further questions!

    Thanks and take care,
