  • i am also getting this issue. it does not matter if i am logged in or logged out.

    separately, i paid a developer to add next/prev buttons to skip through years, alongside the existing monthly next/prev. this is essential for the site’s purposes. i am happy to share the code. i find the idea that several years of a google calendar feed is “too much information for the web host” a bit worrying and slightly unbelievable.

    I am not getting the Back or Next buttons on the List view. They are OK on the grid view. I have tried using the paging variable in the list view but no difference.

    Is this the4 same issue or have I missed something. This is a brand new install on WP 4.0. It is the only bug I have found so far.

    Still an issue after 2.1.0 update?

    Unfortunatly yes… “request has failed”
    Still when logged.
    Weird.

    Kind regards,

    I’ve got the same problem. Links show, but do nothing.

    https://www.penwag.org/meeting-schedul/

    Both the grid and the list view are referencing the same feed, so the feed is clearly working, but the next/back buttons aren’t working.

    This is the code I’m using on the page:

    [gcal id="1174" display="grid" paging="true" ]

    <hr />

    [gcal id="1174" display="grouped-list" interval_count="365 " interval="days" offset_interval_count="14" offset_direction="back"]

    This is using a commercial (paid) template.

    Update: issue seems to have mysteriously resolved its self… at least for now.

    Are you using the HTML editor to enter the shortcode or the Visual Editor?

    Just curious.

    I used the html editor.

    @vincentbray,

    What is your user role set to when you log in? Admin, subscriber, editor, etc etc ?

    Thread Starter VincentBray

    (@vincentbray)

    Dear Nick,
    My Id is “Admin”, but I logged as well with an Editor ID, and issue was the same.

    rgds and thanks,

    @kproche It looks like your theme is injecting an old version of jQuery which is probably causing conflicts.

    <script type=’text/javascript’ src=’https://www.penwag.org/wp-content/themes/theme1333/js/jquery-1.6.1.min.js?ver=1.6.1′></script&gt;

    If you switch to a stock theme such as 2012 does the issue go away?

    KPRoche

    (@kproche)

    I couldn’t switch themes because the entire site was based on the numbers theme (which we bought).

    I could, however, install the jQuery updater, and activating it seems to have solved the problem.

    Dear phil/Nick,
    I’ve updated as well the javascript.
    It lead to a difference in the error message.
    I don’t have anymore “request has failed” but only “-1”

    @kproche Glad that worked!

    @vincentbray We’ll continue to look into this but it’s a tough one!
