Button Not Visible on All Products

I notice that the product that does show the offer button also shows both Bid and Buy Now. The one that does not only shows Bid.

Can you enable the buy now option on the one where it’s not showing and see if that makes it show up?

You’re right. Buy it Now must (apparently) be enabled. I didn’t see that in the documentation. Is there some way to allow offers on items without Buy It Now enabled? Thanks!

Well, what exactly were you doing? Did you just not have a price set at all on the product, or what?

That’s correct. Most of my items are auctions without Buy-It-Now prices (enabled by using the WooCommerce Simple Auctions plugin). They all have opening bids and bid increments set however. Apparently this plugin will only work if the Buy-It-Now price is set too and we don’t always want to do that. Now that I understand what’s causing it, it isn’t a problem anymore, although I think allowing offers on auction-only items would be a good enhancement in future versions.

We’ve actually been working on this already and we hoped to have it included in the last update, however, WooCommerce makes this particular task very difficult and we have yet to find a way around it.

The WooCommerce logic constantly checks to see if the product is “sellable” and if there is no price it keeps reverting it back to unsellable and won’t allow us to add it to the shopping cart. If we force it, then it just removes itself again the next time the cart loads.

Unfortunately, there is no exact hook built into WooCommerce right now that allows us to get that done, but we’re not giving up on it, and we hope to come up with some sort of a resolution for it before long.

@metp, could you please submit a ticket here and provide a copy of the WooCommerce Simple Auctions plugin so that we can study what they’ve done to get around the issues we’re having with blank pricing?
