• When I installed 5.5 this afternoon, many of the buttons on my back end stopped working. No links. No click-throughs. No joy. When I reverted to 5.4.2, they all worked again.

Also, using WPBakery, I noticed that the Elements and Blocks disappeared. And when I tried to view the code as straight text, the Text tab didn’t work (just like the buttons).

I’m not a programmer, so no idea why this was happening but thought I’d share.

If you use a commercial theme or plugin and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations.

Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.

@freeassociates same issue with me, WPBakery is no longer working. Can you share how you reverted back to version 5.4? Thanks!

Sure. I installed a plugin. In my case, I used WP Downgrade but there are others. I think Jetpack allows this as well.

    Here’s an article about it:
