Buttons/Controls Not Showing

Hi – this seems like a perfect plugin for what we’re looking for – especially the new template you added. However, when using either the shortcode or the template code, the buttons in the controls don’t show up. I’m using WP 4.0 and the latest version of the plugin. Has anyone recently experienced this or have a solution to what I’m looking at?
