We’re working on a site that sells music and some tracks will have different versions available.

In the short description we’re going to add short previews of the tracks added from the media library

We’d like to simplify the buying process and ideally have a ‘buy now’ button underneath each track sample that corresponded with the track version. Is that possible?

    Many thanks,

    James

    Hey @squibblejim,

Depending on the code you’re using to add track previews you would have to write some more custom code to make each variation have a buy now button. It should be possible but it will require some custom development work to implement as it’s not a feature WooCommere itself would provide.

Searching for a ready-made extension for WooCommerce which would offer such features would save you some time and effort though if such an extension exists. Regrettably, I don’t know of any which I could personally recommend to you on this occasion.

Thanks for the reply @stuartduff, I thought that might be the case.

I’m adding the previews to the media library and then to the short description with the ‘add media’ button. Does that lend itself to any particular way of doing things?

    Cheers,

    James

I can confirm that the Quick Buy Now Button for WooCommerce extension works with Variable products.

Let us know if you have any questions about the plugin ??

    Thanks @kylemcpheron

Would I be able to achieve what I said in the first post? i.e having a buy now button under each track sample relating to the correct product version?

If so, how would this work? I can imagine using a shortcode to add the button but how would I make it link to the right variant?

    Cheers!

    Hi @squibblejim,

The Quick Buy Now Button for WooCommerce plugin wouldn’t add the “Buy Now” button to the short description of the product. Instead, it would add a “Buy Now” button next to the “Add to Cart” button that already exists. Here’s a quick GIF of how that would look.

I hope that helps. If you wanted to add the button to the short description, I don’t have anything additional to add beyond what @stuartduff has said.
