Buying a theme: Do i really need Source files?

  • They have a standard version that offers:

    Single site License
    Support via Forum
    OneClick Autoinstall

    the other, development version also offers:

    Layered PSD files
    Source files

    I am not sure what i would need source files for. does that mean that i cant make any modifications and only use the theme “as is”?
