  • I am also seeing a similar set of error messages (see below).

When I upload more than a single image to a gallery and then go to the page where I can edit titles, etc. Only a single thumbnail is displayed and the error messages show below are displayed in the place where the tags are usual shown. If I click on the button to sort the gallery nothing happens. (Which might make sense since the software seems to be only recognizing the first jpeg file.)

This is the only problem. The gallery displays properly with the correct number of images in my webpage.

I am running WordPress 4.7 with the classic theme and NextCellent Gallery 1.9.31. The problem began when I updated one (or maybe both) of these packages. (I can’t remember since it was before I went away for the holidays… sorry!)

    Here are the error messages:

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘taxonomy’ in /homepages/32/d122491385/htdocs/blog/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 1874

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘object_ids’ in /homepages/32/d122491385/htdocs/blog/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 1875

Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /homepages/32/d122491385/htdocs/blog/wp-content/plugins/nextcellent-gallery-nextgen-legacy/admin/manage/class-ngg-image-list-table.php on line 212

Thanks for any help you can provide,

    HI
    I have the same problem.
Warning: Illegal string offset ‘taxonomy’ in /home/.sites/3/site2411/web/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 1874 Warning: Illegal string offset ‘object_ids’ in /home/.sites/3/site2411/web/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 1875 Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /home/.sites/3/site2411/web/wp-content/plugins/nextcellent-gallery-nextgen-legacy/admin/manage/class-ngg-image-list-table.php on line 212

I’m having this issue too after the newest 4.7 WP update. Hope the developers can take a look at it ??

    I can confirm this problem.

Mine is showing it while opening a gallery in the backend. Only the first picture is shown and the already documented errors here are showing up.

I am also waiting for an official reply from the creators. Please let us know if it will be fixed

For what it’s worth, commenting out those two lines (1874 & 1875) lets NextCellent get through and display the gallery fully. No idea what else I just broke by doing that though. I think those lines just populated an argument list which will probably break something, but not totally error out as it would just pass an empty argument.

Edit: it appears, understandably, to break at least categories and tags. In wordpress’ posts list no categories or tags show for anything, but in a new post all categories are selected. So, I guess you can comment the lines out and do things like watermarking and rotation and then re-add them before doing anything else to avoid making a mess of things.

    norcomkm,

I was getting ready to apply your “fix”, but before doing so, I applied the latest update (version 4.7.1) of WordPress.

The update alone seems to have fixed the problem.

I can confirm fgorga news. With the WordPress update 4.7.1 the error is solved.

Confirmed – 4.7.1 solves this properly – which is awesome because I was really not looking forward to breaking and subsequently unbreaking the code every time needed to edit a gallery!

This was caused by the same issue as in https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/nextcellent-gallery-is-broken-under-wordpress-4-7/.

As this was caused by a bug in 4.7, it is normal that 4.7.1 fixed this.
