My website is hosted with App Engine and hence the wp-content/uploads directory cannot be written. That’s why I opted for this plugin. But it seems wp-stateless is also trying to store the file temporarily in uploads folder, before uploading to GCS.

Because of this, I’m getting following error:
Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/{year}/{month}. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Is there a way to bypass this and directly upload it to the GCS server?

Thank you. FYI, Google Cloud Storage plugin does this.

    We’ll check it out.

Beyond that, what about the Google plugin does not work for you? Why WP-Stateless over the other option?

    Thanks again

Google plugin slows down the website like hell. TTFB with Google plugin is 22sec and without Google plugin is 2sec. Also, their recent update broke the website. Informed the same to their support and there is no response.

The only other plugin which looks promising in this is WP-Stateless!

    Thanks again.

    Dear Support,

we are also facing with the same problem.

When I’ve installed the plugin on my local computer, WP stored the uploaded file localy, and after it uploaded to the bucket.

At this moment when the site / plugin runs on Google Cloud then it doesn’t work, because the root file system is read only…

Thank you for you help in advance.

PS: do you accept a donation for this fantastic plugin?

    Best regards,

This functionality is now available with v3.0 released today.

Our updated Stateless mode will skip local storage entirely and we now offer a compatibility mode for Google App Engine.

Download WP-Stateless v3.0 and enjoy these new features. Thanks!
