  • Go to WP TILES > Tile Designer.
    At the option ‘Byline effect’ you select ‘slide up’.

    @tony-1970, that doesn’t work. That simply hides the byline (including the title and anything else one has included) until hovered over.

    The original poster is asking to have *part* of the byline showing (the title of the post), with the rest appearing on hover (e.g. author, excerpt, whatever is included in the byline content settings).

    I have the same need – I want my post titles to show in the overlay of the Tile, and have the rest of the byline content (author and excerpt) show on hover……..

    An example of this is on Yahoo Travel – if you scroll down just a bit to their Post Content, which is styled as Tiles, you can see each post’s title, and when you hover over it you see more.

    I’d love to have it as well!

    Hi guys. If anyone is still trying to do this, this css should get you started – it sets the byline as transparent, to be revealed on hover –

    .wp-tiles-byline-content {
        opacity: 0;}

    .wp-tiles-byline-content:hover {
        opacity: 1;}
