I’m a WPEngine customer and they offer a product called SPM (smart plugin manager) which will update plugins automatically including testing each update to ensure there are no undesirable changes to the site e.g., plugin breaks the site. In order for SPM to work, it has to reach the wpadmin page and right now, but default, authorizer redirects everyone to CAS. I can’t find an option to whitelist SPM. Does such a thing exist?

Here is the info on SPM

Do you have the following setting enabled: “Immediately redirect to CAS login form”? If so can you try turning it off and see if SPM works.

That is enabled, but what is the impact of turning it off? This is an Intranet site, so we require users to authenticate to see any and all pages of the site. If I disable this feature, what is the outcome?

Users will have one more step when they log in, they will have to click the “Sign in with CAS” button on wp-login.php before being redirected to CAS. Example: https://i.imgur.com/x8HJw9m.png
