Cache always “miss” and high TTFB
-
I tried mailing directly to support but did not receive a reply so will try here as well in case others have some input as well.
So I’ve abandoned WP Rocket to try with Litespeed cache + Redis object cache. Setting everything up went smoothly and the site seems to run very well. I actually “feel” the page load is faster now.
However, when I run GTMetrix or any other page speed tool cache always says “miss”. When I tried this with WP Rocket, I would always get “miss” on the first attempt, but then on the following try it would always be “hit”.
In general I do get a decent final page load result in GTMetrix at 2.6s and I’m pretty sure cache is working but for some reason TTFB is very high at 600-900ms. When I used WP ROcket, TTFB was always around 170-250ms when cache “hit”.
I’ve tried a bunch of things – I’ve turned off Redis, Cloudflare, and played around with the LScache settings but nothing helps.
So my question is, why is TTFB so high and why is page speed test always showing “miss”.
My Google Analytics plugin is also showing Page Load Time much higher than before when I used WP Rocket although I can “feel” that my site is loading much faster now.
The numbers and info I am getting are contradictory and it’s confusing me.
