Cache/Cookie Problem

  • Hi again!
    Sometimes when I go to my website and the age gate appears, when I click Yes nothing happens. I have to clean my cache and cookies and try again.
    This happens sometimes in others computers and I don’t know why this happens because isn’t something constant.
    This is something important because it will be frustrating for the visitors that will not know how to fix and enter the website. Can you help me find the problem?
    By the way, the cookie lasts for one day? I would like to change for a week or another period without have the checkbox “remember me”.

    Hi @joaogodinho,

    Sorry for the slow reply, it’s been crazy busy!

    If you’re using caching make sure you use the Javascript version in the Advanced tab of the settings.
    If you’re already doing that, where are you hosting your site? I’ve seen issues with WPEngine where they have to whitelist cookies. You can see the info on this thread:

    For the cookie, it lasts for the session rather than a particular time so expires when the user closes the browser. I can look at some point at adding an option for a longer time.

    I wasn’t using the javascript version, let’s see if this don’t happens again. Thank you! ??

    About the cookie, I’m not sure about the best length option. Maybe it is the best, but a option to set this would be a great improve for the plugin I think.

    Hi @joaogodinho,

    Are you comfortable with using filters? I think that might be the way I go for the cookie length rather than an option just to keep the options as simple as possible!
