• There is a problem with the permissions on the cache directory.

My WordPress install is owned by a user that is NOT the apache web service. The apache web service has read only access on the files.

To get the plugin to work without errors I have to change the permissions on the cache directory so that the group access is rw.

This is fine until the plugin upgraded when the permissions get reset and then my php error logs start filling up.

Can you either change the location of the cache directory so it is not under the plugin directory or make sure that the cache directory has the correct permissions before you create the next release.

Not use WordPress admin console when install plugin?
I will grant group write permission to cache directory next release.

I always upgrade using the upgrade plugin option and I installed the plugin through the plugin interface but had to change the permissions to stop the errors in the first place.
