  • It is quite common if you are caching by disk. Basically the page cache is saving the full size of all the pages on your website, thus you will get large cache files and a large amount of Inodes.

The same goes with the DB cache while lighter it is still doing it for every page. This is the tricky part of W3 and why you might need some extra configuration. If you have a small website on shared hosting you should be fine. If you have a VPS you are also going to be fine but this is a common issue when we have large sites on shared hosting.

I would say excluding certain pages from caching would reduce it greatly, also turning off some cache functions such as the Object Cache and DB cache would be great.

Thanks for the reply! I have a medium-sized site that doesn’t get a huge amount of traffic. I will probably just clear out my 2nd sandbox install for now and not worry about the config until I have more time to dig into it.
