• Hi,
I used wp super cache for many years and I remember it used to put some code in htaccess.

Then last year (december) I uninstalled it and I installed a different caching plugin.

Then I went back to wp super cache a month ago.
But now no code has been added in .htaccess

    is something wrong?

  • Did you use expert caching mode? I’d say use easy mode, it uses PHP to serve cache files and is just as quick most of the time.

    Hi,
I don’t remember which setting I was using previously but I think I was in simple mode. But once I uninstalled and re-installed it, now there is nothing appearing in .htaccess. Before there was a lot of code being added.

So this is normal? Is it due to some update?

Should I/Could I manually add caching expiring time in .htaccess?

    Thank you

You were probably using expert or mod_rewrite mode before. In wp-content/cache/.htaccess there’s some code that sets the max-age to 3 seconds, but you could probably add similar code to the main .htaccess yourself.
