    Happy Monday!

I’m running a WordPress theme that has various dynamic elements (eg. upvoting/downvoting, user frontend submission etc.), and I’ve been having an issue with logged-in users being logged out. But upon going to another page on my website, the user is logged in again.

I’ve asked the theme developers and they’ve mentioned the following: You need to find out what is setting the Cache-Control: max-age=TTL > 0 header and set TTL to 0. I’ve asked my hosting provider to do this, but I’m still experiencing the log out issue.

Does Wordfence have any cache settings that may be impacting this?

    Thanks!

Hi @bibblybob, thanks for seeking our help with this.

Wordfence does not have cache settings, and on our custom error pages such as 403 we will use Cache-Control: no-cache, must-revalidate, private to enforce a non-cached page load, but this is not added to every page as normal practice.

I recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin which allows you to disable any/all plugins and switch to a default theme, but only for your user to prevent downtime for other site visitors. This should allow you to click around your site with various theme and plugin combinations to see what may be causing the users to occasionally show as logged out.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
