• Hi. The cache tester is not working since long (can′t click on it, like deactivated) and I don′t know why. I′ve deleted, reinstalled and reactivated the plugin, and it′s the same. When debugging, the error_log file doesn′t show anything. When seeing the cached pages, it always shows blog posts cached but never pages being cached (expiration set to 3000, refreshing preload 1440).

Can anyone tell me what could be happening? Thank you,

    Julia

(I haven′t updated plugins or WP to v.5.5)

  • Do you see the message “Cache comments are currently disabled. Please go to the Debug page and enable Cache Status Messages there. You should clear the cache before testing.” above the “Test Cache” button?

Enable that to test the cache.

    Hi Donncha,

Yes, I saw that message. Now I′ve enabled Cache Status Messages in the Debug page, clicked on Save and cleared cache, but it doens′t save the change (the option appears unchecked, I did this several times).

    The error_log file shows this:

    11:16:49 6350 /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=wpsupercache&tab=debug wp_cache_replace_line: changing line $wp_super_cache_debug = 0; to *$wp_super_cache_debug = 1;*

I don’t know what’s happening then. If the settings saved you should be able to run the cache tester.
    However, do a manual test:
    1. Open a private/incognito window and load your site.
    2. View source and look at the timestamp at the end of the page.
    3. Open the page in a new private/incognito window or just force-reload (shift-reload) it.
    4. View the source again and verify that the timestamp matches.
