    Allen,

Having a issue with the pagination/load more content (both options). Issue happens whether all other plugins are on or off.

    1. Mostly I don’t get the next page of posts. Occasionally I get some of the last posts on the page repeated plus a few of the next posts. Not sure if this is a slow response problem with my host and a timeout of the importer or something else going on.

    2. The last post on a page can mess up the pagination/load more content display, depending on if it overflows or sometimes for no reason that I can determine. When this happens, it also messes up the widget output(then nothing displays in the widget area).

    3. How does the importer caching interact (or not) with a caching plugin like W3 Total Cache? Which caching takes precedence?

(If I have too many questions in this post, I can split them up…)

My website is https://www.whiddy.com if you have time to take a peek.

    Thanks,

    Pete D.

First, I wouldn’t spend too much time with the load more option since I’m going to fix some problems with that in a future release. The pagination should work, however, so point me to a page on your site where you think the pagination isn’t working – including anything that messes up the output.

As for caching, any caching plugin will take precedence over my plugin – thus not updating the page with information – only that stored in the cache of the caching plugin.

    Ok Allen,

Have switched it to pagination and will do some more testing, then report back. Not easy to tell you which page has an issue since that issue can go away after the next post is added in but show up again at another time.

The sequence of posts being displayed incorrectly may be tied to the having the 2 cachings. i.e. I need your plugin to grab the feeds and do your magic but also need W3 or another caching plugin to speed up the website (have upgraded my level of hosting but still very slow if I turn off the major caching plugin). I need to think that thru some more.

Be happy to do some beta testing. Still a newbie with WordPress but have years of experience in various areas of the technology industry.

I’m releasing an update today that might help because of a change in the way the images are resized (long story, but a function that gets the size of a remote image is causing the plugin to stall on some servers), so update the plugin when you see it’s been released and see if the problem still holds.

If you want, you can also try the beta version of the plugin – which I’m launching this month – which handles everything differently.

Thank you Allen. I have updated the plugin and will do some testing.

I’ll have more time to try the beta over the weekend and beyond and will be happy to provide feedback.

Is it possible to have the regular plugin and the beta plugin as separate plugins so I can activate and deactivate each one as need be? At this time my site is very experimental so it doesn’t matter if I switch it around a lot or add extra pages to test different scenarios.

actually, you can’t have both plugins at the same time…the beta will totally change the database structure, making the prior versions useless.

Yes I totally understand as I knew they would be very different.

I guess I was just hoping that there would be a separate plugin WP-RSS-Multi-Importer-beta. That way it would be easier (for me of course!!!) to do some beta testing but return to current plugin features easily by deactivating/activating plus flushing cache(s). (as each plugin would use it’s own input tabs and database structure). Again am new to the WordPress world so don’t have any idea if this is feasible or doable within the plugin environment.

Anyway it doesn’t really matter as I plan to keep using your plugin with the new release.

So am still in for beta testing and can start this weekend going forward. Just let me know what I need to do and am looking forward to helping out.

    Have upgraded to 2.67.67.

Will upgrade to the beta later today.
