• I am currently running the latest version of WordPress and proceeded to update the plugin. The update seemed to go fine from what I can tell, but since then, the plugin is not registering any changes I make to the plugin’s settings.

Examples include changing the icons from small to large or rearranging/adding/removing share buttons. Any changes I make in this regard do not reflect on posts after saving.

If I deactivate the plugin, the buttons do disappear.

I have deactivated, removed, and reinstalled the plugin twice, but again no changes register to the plugin’s config state pre-update.

Moreover, I’m noticing that the Twitter share is not adding a short URL link like it should be.

I’m thinking there is some sort of caching issue going on here, but am unsure.

  • Can you please provide your website details and the Theme and Plugins list which you are using so that we can further investigate the issue.

Meanwhile you can check the same by deactivating all other Plugins and then check if there is any Plugin which is conflicting With ShareThis Plugin and causing the issue.
Also, check your Network, Firewall and Antivirus settings if they are causing the issue and blocking the Social Plugins.

Sure thing. For sake of troubleshooting we can use this post:

    https://www.cardboardrepublic.com/news/weekly-roundup-5814

The buttons are shown at the bottom of the posts, and the Pinterest and ShareThis buttons are not showing, nor does it register any changes (say by moving it to the top or making the buttons large)

I tested plugin compatibility by deactivating them already, and it is not based on a conflict with any of them. This only occurred when updating to 7.0.14 and seems to be limited to ShareThis. It happens regardless of which system the post is pulled up on and is also browser independent.

If the plugin was removed, does it actually clear out all of the database entries? That’s the only thing I can think of myself at the moment is if even after uninstalling it is leaving stuff behind, as even on a fresh install while the config menu resets, the actual post doesn’t.

As we can check your website page, the ShareThis buttons are properly showing-up and working fine.
Please let us know if you are still facing any issue.

    Hi there,

While the other buttons in the plugin are showing up, a number of things are not:

-There should be buttons for the ShareThis and Pinterest showing, as that is the current setting. They are not.
-For troubleshooting purposes, the buttons should be large and not small. They are not.
-The Twitter share link is not adding the ShortURL when trying to share.
-Reinstalling the plugin resets the settings in the plugin settings area, but even left at the defaults they are not reflecting on the pages themselves.

It is therefore safe to say that things are not working properly and that this issue is still persisting.

Can you please check our new version and let us know if this works for you.

    Answers fro your queries –

1] The ShareThis and Pinterest buttons code seems to be missing.

2] You can change them from settings menu.

3] The Twitter code seems to be malformed –
    <span class=’st_twitter’ st_via=” st_title=’Weekly Roundup 5/8/14′ st_url=’This is the short link.‘></span>

    It should be
    <span class=’st_twitter’ st_via=” st_title=’Weekly Roundup 5/8/14′ st_url=’https://cardboardrepublic.com/B7Uzy&#8217; title=’Weekly Roundup 5/8/14 This is the short link’></span>

4] After installing the new Plugin if you still has the same issue, then please provide us access so that we can take a look.
