Caching not working or can't tell if its working!

    I just installed the plugin a couple of hours ago. I have enabled Cache System, clear cache every time a new post is published, gzip and browser caching.
    When I check wp-content/cache/all the folder is empty, so I assume caching is not working. Also when I check PageSpeed by google, i get “Leverage browser caching” which means indeed something is wrong. How can I be sure? And what might be the issue?

    Please note I am on a dedicated linux server, that I also use Cloudflare, my wordpress version is 4.0. Please also note I have always had wp-super-cache installed which suddenly stopped working. I tried to instal w3tc but browser caching was not working again (maybe it didnt work in general actually), which makes me think this might be a general caching problem?? If so do you have any suggestions?? Is there some configuration I need to look at??
