• Hello

I am trying to create some surveys using caldera forms and also would like to save results in a database. I am new to both caldera and CFDB.

I have created a trial form consisting of 3 single-line fields and a single textarea. All have names which are distinctive within the form e.g. name, mail etc.

After form submission, I receive an email where all the fields are correctly filled. However, in CFDB, I only get the Date/time submitted and also the IP address. The four fields are empty. I wonder what I am doing wrong.

I have the latest version of WP and the latest version of CFDB.

I should add that I have some Fast Secure Forms in my WP site which have been correctly saved on CFDB. Is there any conflict between FSF and caldera forms?

I should add that table wp_cf7dbplugin_submits contains the submit times, and the field value for “Submitted from”. The other field values are empty.

However, table wp_cf_form_entry_values contains the missing field values including data from forms that I have deleted (both caldera and FSF).

Thank you for continuing to support this great plugin.

    Andrew

  • I am having the same problem. I have been using the same setup for over a year with no trouble. Caldera form is very basic, 4 fields, nothing custom. I have the latest versions of everything. I have disabled spam controls, tried to start from scratch with a new caldera form, I uninstalled and reinstalled cfdb, still get the same results.

I am the developer of Caldera Forms, not CDFB. I can’t really speak to CFDB, but I’m wondering why you need CFDB with Caldera Forms? We have database saving of entries and an entry viewer for the admin and front-end in Caldera Forms.

I’m only using the CDFB as a quick / easy front end viewer for the members of the website.

Thank you very much. I will give that a go

mlapl1 and doit686868, I used both plugins and have the same problem here; tried to fix it without success. Have you found solutions?

Josh Pollock, you create a great form plugin and we are all very happy to use it. But CFDB provide us some opportunities to show entries in different ways by using shortcodes, not just a list for all the entries. For example:

    1. add numbers in a column up;
    2. a login user can only see his own entries; and
    3. create “pivot table” type of entry listing.

    Thank you.

I still have not found a fix. I second salemge’s statement, Josh puts out a fantastic form plugin. It is my go to for all my form needs, but the output functionality is limited. I have not yet been able to trace down what / where the failure is. I intend on getting it sorted today. My clients are banging on my door wanting their info display back.

Hi @salemge, I guess don’t have the same needs as you and I have given up trying to use cfdb. When I wrote the original posting I did not realize that Caldera forms saved to the database. All I need (for the moment) is access to the databased information in its entirety rather than a subset of information. So… I am just using the native Caldera features (which I can also access through database management systems). Sorry… no progress from my end.

    Cheers

I took a stab and updated the customers PHP from 5.4 to 5.6, but that didn’t help. I gave up and recreated the forms I needed with CF7. Sorry I couldn’t help more.

Thanks a lot for the updates.

Same problem here: Caldera Forms 1.5.0.8 (current version) and CF DB (2.10.24) installed. Updated CF DB to latest version (2.10.32) without success. Workaround: Downgrading Caldera Forms to version 1.4.9.

I too have been having an issue using both Contact Form DB (CFDB) and Caldera Forms (CF), starting with CF version 1.5.0.7. I had to fallback to using CF version 1.5.0.6 with the latest version 2.10.29 of CFDB. The data from the CF entry fields were no longer transferring over to CFDB from CF but work fine after I revert to CF 1.5.0.6.

Why do I use both? I combine the two to achieve a random sampling of submitted surveys for a drawing for prizes at a live event each month. We want to encourage feedback for the meeting, so people have to submit a survey that includes a ticket number from a carnival style ticket given to them at check-in. The drawing is performed automatically and a list of 30 numbers is posted on a private web page for the meeting host to call announce the winning numbers. Here’s the CFDB shortcode I use on results page:

[cfdb-table form=”Monthly Meeting Survey” show=”Please enter your white ticket number for the drawing.” random=”30″]
    [/cfdb-table]

I continue to have to retain legacy Caldera Forms 1.5.0.6 for Contact Form DB to be able to successfully access data submitted in my form.
