• Hi,

I am using pique for quite some time now and I would like to add event calendar.

There are a lot of plugins available, all I tried work fine, but look like c… ahem.. not quite nice.

So far I am using a html table which is a bit clumsy and beside the point … like writing on smartphone with felt tip pen.

Since Pique is a theme for a small business, some event calendar tips would be appreciated. Even a calendar recommendation that looks nice would do.

    Thanks!

  • Hi @gpaladin,

I’m not too familiar with options for event calendars but have detailed the first two that came to my mind:

    1. Eventbrite is a very popular service for managing events and they have a plugin in the www.ads-software.com repository that you could try out:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/eventbrite-api/

    2. You could also consider keeping track of your events with Google Calendar and embedding that calendar directly to your site by following these steps:

Hope that’s helpful! If you’d like some further recommendations for calendar plugins then you may have some more luck posting in the general support forums.

If you have any questions that are specific to Pique then we’ll be happy to help here.

    Thank you for your answer.

Specific question for theme Pique is what about some native calendar support?

Just a nicely formatted table with correct dates would do the trick for many of us. ??

Themes in the www.ads-software.com repository are unable to enter into plugin territory, which is what calendar support would come under.

There are, however, plans to add the Upcoming Events widget to the Jetpack plugin. You can read more about this widget here:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/upcoming-events/

I can’t give a guaranteed date for when that widget will be included within Jetpack but it’s definitely on the radar.
