Calendar front end displays rows with alternating background color

After installing Calendar, the display calendar looks messed up: every other row of the calendar is white, and every other row toggles color when the mouse moves over it. See here:

I might have suspected conflict with some plugin like Tablepress, but I have not installed Tablepress on this site. Here are the plugins I’m running:
- Ajax Event Calendar
- Akisment
- Enable Media Replace
- Hide Title
- Jetpack by WordPress.com
- Media Rename
- Social Slider
The theme is “JohnLoan”.
