Calendar next & prev don't show

When I’m using ‘add new event’, you can’t see ‘prev’ and ‘next’ on the calendar unless you move your mouse to the left or right of the calendar name. How do I correct this? (I have to be careful how I change the code as it is customised)I have a screenshot, but don’t know how to add it here. Basically the calendar is cream background, with yellow dates, brown background to the month which is in white text, but unless you hover your mouse to the far left or right of the month name, you can’t see prev or next. When you do hover, you get a yellow square which you can click.
I need to correct this.
