Calendar on my own page

I’m just getting started with WordPress and The Event Calendar, warning: I’m a noob. I want my own stuff around the calendar, so I’m assuming I need to use a short-code instead just adding the pre-built page to the menu. I can’t find a list of shortcodes for the (free) version of this product. What shortcodes can I use?
