Calendar / Scheduling Plugins

    I’m doing research (okay, googling the Intertron) for potential solutions for designing a site. Briefly, the main functionality I’m after relates to building a site which can have client booking functionality in parallel to a standard blog:

    -General users can login to request an appointment with preffered date, see history and notes from past appointments.

    -Admin users can book appointments based on those requests, input data before / following appointments.

    -Schedule appointments or reminders (with notification) on complex rules (every 6 weeks, first monday of each month, etc).

    -Some geographic information associated to the client user which can be used to evaluate booking clients in same part of town on same day. I’m decent with google maps coding that I figure I can code this part into a pre-built solution if necessary.

    -Multiple different user data options. I’m looking at this for an industry where it won’t always be a one-to-one client. Although not for the housing market, the analogy of tenant, house owner landlord, property management agency, etc is similar enough. Something where I can assign an asset / object to a particular user and maintain history about that item, each user can see their own, etc.

    -If it has the potential to tie-in to an invoicing or time tracking system, that would be super fantastic. Payment will be handled separately, but future potential is always a good thing.

    The reason I ask here is two-fold.

    1) Looking for plugins which might be able to meet 90% of the needs I have. I’m wholly comfortable building WordPress templates, and pretty good at customizing or enhancing a plugin that has already done the bulk of code “heavy lifting”.

    My initial searches tell me that https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Plugins/EventCalendar3 and https://wpcal.firetree.net/ seem to be the closest to what I want, but still appear to fall far short on the user interaction part. Anyone know of others that are closer to full-functionality I’m after.

    2) What other products have people used, heard of, experimented with that offer this type of functionality. I looked at 37Signals highrise, but it’s too niche for my purposes. Joomla or Expression Engine *might* be better suited, but what little details I could find on modules / plugins for them gave me the impression that I’d still be doing a lot of heavy lifting. Given that, I figure I’m better off with WP which I am already familiar.

    -What product(s) do you think I should look at?
    -How do you find they compare to WP?
    -Example site(s) of this functionality using that product

    I installed both of those plugins. Overall I’d say Event Calendar 3 is a little better presentation to the site viewer with it’s AJAX elements, although WP-Cal data entry side is a little more comfortable.

    Unfortunately both are far short of what I’m looking for, so if anyone knows of other products, it would be greatly appreciated to hear about them.
