I have installed the latest version of The Events Calendar for showing events. When I click on Connect > Events it shows me all the events of the current month with the titles in the month view, just the way i set it. When I navigate to the “next month” button, it shows me only dots. even when I click on the previous month button (to go back to the month, where it was displayed correctly) it shows me the dots. The only way to show the name of the events is by reloading the page. This happens on Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
I have installed and configured WP Super Cache to force events to not cache, according to a prior support thread I read. This doesn’t resolve the issue.
When I revert to a default WordPress theme, the issue resolves, but I’d really love to keep the theme I have, as I have spent many hours customizing the site for this theme.
Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

  • Hey @laalpert1,

I can’t see the events page on your site, but this sounds like an issue with …

    • A page builder like Divi or Elementor (make sure The Events Calendar is up to date), or
    • Caching (Please temporarily deactivate all caching to see what effect that has), or
    • Our plugins’ CSS and/or JavaScript getting minified somewhere

    Cheers!

Thanks, John. I had deactivated the plugin temporarily to test another option. Ideally, I’d like to get The Events Calendar working again. I’ve reactivated it.

I don’t use a page builder, but I do use Genesis Framework and a child theme of that. I have a caching plugin installed, but it is also deactivated.

Now, for the possibility of the CSS and/or JavaScript getting minified somewhere…if that’s the issue, is there a way to resolve that? I don’t know much about that.

Any other suggestions would be most appreciated. The events page is here: https://webthreesixty.com/acs/events/

Hi @laalpert1, I am curious if you’ve already followed this article on configuring WP Super Cache with The Events Calendar: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/using-the-events-calendar-with-wp-super-cache/.

Hi @abzlevelup, thanks for the message. Yes, I have already seen that article and configured WP Super Cache as described in it. No luck there. I’ll happily investigate any other suggestions you or anyone else has.

    Thanks,

Hi @laalpert1, most likely there’s an issue with javascript here. I suspect there’s a conflict that’s causing the issue here. It would be good to test for conflicts. Could you follow the following steps?

    1. Deactivate all other plugins except for The Events Calendar Plugins.
    2. Switching to the Default theme.

Please read the Testing for Conflicts Article before doing anything.?To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and updates on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.

Let me know how it goes, Lisa.

Thanks for your suggestions and follow up! I did finally find the culprit. There was a third-party mailing list signup form in a footer widget that was causing the conflict with The Events Calendar and another plugin on the site. I removed the form and all is well. Took a major deep dive to find that one!

    Thanks again!

    Hi @laalpert1 ,

I’m glad to learn that you’ve found the culprit and have this sorted out.

If you have some time to review, that would be amazing!
