Morning all, hopefully an easy one to answer.

I have set up the birthday widget with some test birthdays ready. A widget has been added to the sidebar as the Calendar Template. Birthdays show up on the calendar but there is no indication of who’s birthday it is on that day. Clicking on or hovering over the highlighted day does nothing.

Is this by design or have I done something wrong?

    Thanks in advance

    Stephen

Update: Not sure if this points to a bad install of the plugin, but when in default or list template, the widget does not show up at all on the site.

Hello, you can see the calendar template working here: codescar.eu
From your description i guess there is a JavaScript error on your page, that’s why you don’t see the name/picture of the user/s. Please drop us the URL either here or email to yury{at}codescar{dot}eu

As for the other templates they are only shown on the day of the user’s birthday. So if no one in your list has birthday today, the widget will be empty today.

    Hi Sudavar

That sounds about right for javascript being the issue, the calendar works on the link you provided.

Unfortunately I can’t link in the URL as its local hosted to internal staff and can’t be viewed outside of company servers. I’ve had issues with some of my own Javascript on the site before and had to get a plugin to allow me to turn off Formatting/Characterencoding before it would work. Could this be the same issue?

Thanks for the info about the other template types, it makes sense now.

In this plugin all comments are in English, encoding is UTF-8 without BOM, so i don’t think that it can cause the case you describe above. However there must be a JavaScript error so: fire up the developers console (press F12) and tell me the error you get.

I have uploaded a screen shot of the current error log on console to imageshack. The first 4 errors appear upon load, following errors appear upon changing the month.

Sorry for the absence, the error indicates that the bootstrap module I included with the calendar template requires at least 1.9.1 of jQuery while your site uses 1.7.2 … For that i can only suggest you update your jQuery version (you can try updating your WordPress installation, or then maybe manually replacing 1.7.2)

How ever your site has another JavaScript error coming from jquery colorbox. You should try to address that too. In my experience once a page has a JS error, the rest of JS code is prone to errors ??

Sorry again for the absence, please keep me updated about your situation.

I can’t find any contact info and there seems not be feedback here. I am going to close the issue as resolved.

But if you see it sometime, don’t hesitate to post again and let me help you.

Thanks for the help sundavar. I was going to say mark this as resolved as it was out of date for other things I had noticed.

Thanks again, I will let you know when I have had a change to update everything.

    Steve
