Call to a member function format() on null

    When I put the shortcode in my footer and activate the plugin by adding an API key, I get a white screen with the error:

    Error thrown
    Call to a member function format() on null

    I’d like to try this plugin — but I can’t get it to work at all….

    Never mind…. It seems that if your Open Weather account is not fully activated, this is the error you receive. The error cleared up once I confirmed/activated the account.

    I’m getting this problem as well. Even if the API key isn’t working yet, it shouldn’t result in a fatal error that crashes the site.

    Hi @jameswme,

    Sorry to hear that you are facing such an issue. This type of error only appears when someone generates an API key and then tries to activate it right away. It takes a few hours to activate the API key.

    We agree with you that the fatal error should not appear when the API key doesn’t activate. We have already fixed this issue. Hopefully, the resolved version will be published soon.

    Could you please try using your API key again? Hope it works now if not then please share the page link so that we can review it deeply.
