Hello community,

Recently I have updated the wordpress manually using FTP to 5.8.1

Now there is an error that I cannot tell how to debug. Would you please help? The message goes like this, from loading the website:

I followed this,

and had looked into that post on stakexhcnage before – sadly I am not smart enough to resolve the problem after reading that.

I tried disabled all plugins via FTP by renaming the plugins folder to sth else, hoping the site will boot, but this is still the exact error I am getting.

Would someone explain what the error means, and where I should start debugging – after disabling all plugins by renaming the plugins folder via FTP?

@strangetml It is usually caused by a filter or an action not properly declared.

Here is what I suggest:

#Go to functions.php and add the following code:
```
function regis_options($args) {
   return $args;
}
```
#And this in class-wp-hook.php:
```
public function regis_options($args) {
echo '<pre>' . var_export($args, true) . '</pre>';
echo '<pre>' . var_dump(debug_backtrace()) . '</pre>';
return $args;
}
```

Sorry I have been letting the site dying.

Would you be able to advice where in the files to put these two sets of codes to? such as before or after part of the files?

This issue has been resolved by multiple manual updates of the WordPress. Problems appear to occur during the upload process via FTP.
