calling code for country billing phone field

Just to check, are you using a plugin to add the country code selector for phone numbers or to mark the phone field as not required?

If possible, kindly let us have a closer look at your setup by sharing your System Status from WooCommerce → Status.

I was using a plugin but when I noticed a glitch with the plugin I had deleted the plugin some time ago and all was working fine. It was used to add an extra field and not like you have stated. I currently have now checkout edit field plugin installed.
The calling country code is atomically generated by woo commerce which is a good thing. However if the customer continues the check out without adding the rest of there number the order is completed even though in my settings I have phone as required. This is cause by the auto generated country calling code. Maybe the validation for that field needs to be change to number count as most number are 11 digits long including the country’s calling code.

Hi @giftinapot

When ever the country is selected the country calling code is automatically inserted in the checkout field.

It looks like this feature is added by your theme or plugin – auto generated country calling code doesn’t show up when a country is selected on my test sites which have the latest versions of WordPress, WooCommerce and Storefront(default) theme.

You can temporarily switch to Storefront Theme and deactivate plugins one by one to find the source of the country calling code. Once you identify the theme or plugin, you can contact the plugin developer directly on how to turn off the feature.

Thank you for your guidance. I have found the plugin that was causing the problem. I have reached out to the Shipday plugin team, informing them of the issue with the country calling code.
